Dear Sirs,
      I am writing to complain at the colour reproduction in my Graduation Photographs, Ref. number xxxx.   The turquoise blue of the Open University gown bears very little resemblance to the reality, having emerged as a dull beige.  I enclose a copy of the re-order form.
      As you will be well aware, a graduation is a one-off occasion, and the money spent is considerable.  It is consequently highly unsatisfactory that the sole record of this event should be impaired in this way. 
      I should therefore be grateful if you would undertake to replace the photos with ones of a more satisfactory tonal quality.  As soon as you advise me that this is possible, I will post the photo pack back to you.

      I should be extremely grateful if, at the same time, you could also undertake to select a version of the group photo in which my daughter, standing on the right, is smiling, always supposing that there is such a version.

      Thank you very much for returning the reprinted Graduation Photographs as I requested.  I was delighted to see that you had also managed to find a version of the group photo in which my daughter was smiling, and wonder why the earlier version had previously been selected – I imagine it was because this one is slightly off centre, but I can easily live with that!
      I was interested to note from the enclosed mounts that in the interim my degree had apparently been issued by the University of Leeds, rather than the Open University, and am returning these to you so that they may be used in some future package; I do not really need the appropriate mounts sent to me, as I will probably choose my own when selecting a frame.
